"God is MOST Glorified in me when I am MOST satisfied in HIM!"- John Piper "The chief end of man is to Glorify God by enjoying Him forever" "You have capacities for joy which you can scarcely imagine. They were made for the enjoyment of God." -Desiring God by Piper

CLOCKS

Coldplay
Clocks

Lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
You've put me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead (singing)
Come out of things unsaid, shoot an apple of my head (and a)
Trouble that can't be named, tigers waiting to be tamed (singing)
You are, you are

Confusion never stops, closing walls and ticking clocks (gonna)
Come back and take you home, I could not stop, that you now know (singing)
Come out upon my seas, curse missed opportunities (am I)
A part of the cure, or am I part of the disease (singing)

You are [x6]
And nothing else compares
Oh no nothing else compares
And nothing else compares

You are [continues in background]
Home, home, where I wanted to go [x4]

Coldplay is one of my favorite bands in a while. I enjoy listening to their stuff while I work out. I was running today on the treadmill at 24 hour fitness, watching ESPN's Sportcenter, and listening to "Clocks" (song listed above.) Then in the middle of this song a line unmistakably stuck out. I have heard this song a hundred times at least and God used this time to pose a question to me. "am I A part of the cure, or am I part of the disease" WOW! This needs to be asked not only once in our lives but very often. I know when my heart is not right and I am focusing on the bad and not good...I can easily be a part of the disease. Ever notice how bitter people attract other bitter people. I don't want to be a part of this. I want to be a part of the cure. I want my heart to be right, and when it is not I want to hunger to be back in the right place. As we talked about suffering for Christ in NORTHface last night we said that we have to experience Christ in a way that we KNOW, without a doubt, that He is worth any amount of suffering this world has to offer. When we know Christ in that way we WILL be a part of the cure to the disease of sin. Like Paul in Philip. 3:10
"I WANT TO KNOW CHRIST and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death". All other things become more petty, more meaningless. What the world offers becomes less attractive and what Christ has for us becomes for us the ultimate goal. We then start looking like, acting like, becoming PASSIONATE followers of Christ. PASSION: the degree of difficulty you are willing to endure to reach the goal. What are you passionate about? If it is anything other than CHRIST you are far too easily pleased. For more about passion! Or HERE
